Cohort
Follow Up
The municipalities were contacted every five years for information about vital status, emigration and residency of the respondents; from 1996 onwards municipalities were contacted every year. The participants were linked to the mortality and disease event registers. Vital status and cause of mortality, fatal and non-fatal coronary and cerebrovascular events are followed up. Two of the cohorts are re-examined in 1993-1996.
Supplementary Information
Deaths and cardiovascular events are followed up for the harmonized MORGAM data. See the detailed information on follow-up procedures in MORGAM e-publication.

Description of the access procedures

Access to the local data and biosamples is approved on a case-by-case basis. For more information about data request please contact the study representative.

For access to the harmonized MORGAM data from many MORGAM Centres, one should seek a collaboration with any of the Centre which can submit a publication proposal to the MORGAM/BiomarCaRE Steering Group.
