Cohort
Follow Up
Vital status of the cohort members was obtained National Health Service (NHS) Central Register. The Scottish Record Linkage System includes all hospital discharge records, and it was used for follow-up of the non-fatal events.
Supplementary Information
Deaths, cardiovascular events, type 2 diabetes, and cancers are followed up for the harmonized MORGAM data, see detailed information on follow-up procedures in the MORGAM e-publication.
