- Vital status of the cohort members was obtained National Health Service (NHS) Central Register. The Scottish Record Linkage System includes all hospital discharge records, and it was used for follow-up of the non-fatal events.
- Supplementary Information
- Deaths, cardiovascular events, type 2 diabetes, and cancers are followed up for the harmonized MORGAM data, see detailed information on follow-up procedures in the MORGAM e-publication.
